Tips for better results

  • - Be specific about style, colors, and mood
  • - Include lighting and composition details
  • - Use artistic style references like "photorealistic" or "watercolor"
  • - For image-to-image, upload multiple reference images for better results
  • - Describe how you want to transform all uploaded images
  • - If generation fails, try switching to a different model in the dropdown for different results and fewer restrictions

Shape an illustration concept with Nano Banana 2.1

A small story detail can set a whole picture in motion: a light in an empty tower, a traveler at the edge of a map. On Artta AI, turn a scene description or sketch into a visual study of composition, color and mood.

Story scenes from a briefSketch and palette referencesStyle and color experiments

Give the scene a point of view

Describe what is happening, where the viewer stands and which visual choices carry the story.

Write the moment you want to depict

Include the action, foreground, distance, light and emotional tone. Each generation requires text; a prompt can hold up to 20,000 characters for your scene and revision notes.

Bring sketches into the conversation

Add up to 14 JPEG, PNG or WebP images, no more than 30 MB each. Explain whether a sketch guides composition, a reference suggests texture, or a color study sets the palette.

Let the frame support the story

A wide scene can emphasize a journey; a tall frame can give a tower room to rise. Choose Auto or one of 14 fixed ratios, then 1K/2K/4K and JPG or PNG.

Explore the image before settling on a direction

Nano Banana 2.1 on Artta AI supports text-led image generation and reference-guided edits. Use it to investigate how a story moment might read as a watercolor scene, an ink drawing or a graphic color study.

A generated concept gives you something concrete to critique. Look for a clear focal point, readable silhouettes and a palette that supports the scene. Referenced characters and objects can change between images, so assess each picture on its own.

Name the visual language

Describe soft washes, broken ink lines, flat shapes or coarse paper texture in the prompt. These choices explain a direction you want to explore, without promising an exact style match.

Separate color from composition

If you want to evaluate a palette, ask to retain the arrangement and change the colors. Compare the result with the source to see whether composition also shifted.

Make room for a useful art review

Choose settings that suit the question you are asking of the picture.

Budget a concept study

Artta AI charges 2 credits for 1K, 4 for 2K, and 6 for 4K. Sketches and other reference images do not add a separate fee.

Explore beyond the usual frame

Alongside standard portrait and landscape ratios, 1:4, 4:1, 1:8 and 8:1 offer room for narrow or panoramic concepts. Pick a frame before deciding where the visual emphasis belongs.

Keep a file for critique

Download the completed picture as JPG or PNG to compare with your sketch or place in an art review. PNG is a file choice and does not, on its own, request a transparent background.

Two studies for a story in progress

Try one scene from words and one revision from a sketch to answer different creative questions.

Establish the mood of an arrival

Choose Text to Image and 16:9. Prompt: “A weary mapmaker reaches a hilltop observatory at dusk. One amber window glows above a blue valley. Place the figure small in the lower left, with a winding path leading toward the building. Gouache-like opaque shapes, restrained detail, quiet anticipation.” Judge where your eye goes first and whether the mood reads without a caption.

Test a warmer palette for a forest sketch

Upload your forest sketch, select Image to Image and 4:3. Prompt: “Use this sketch as the composition reference. Keep the arching branches and the small door near the roots. Explore ochre leaves, coral shadows and pale turquoise mist, with loose watercolor edges.” Compare the focal point and branch structure as well as the new colors.

Move from a story note to a visual study

Keep one creative question at the center of each request.

1

Pick the story moment

Write the action and atmosphere, or add a sketch to Image to Image. State which references describe layout, texture and color.

2

Choose the experiment and frame

Decide whether you are testing composition, palette or rendering style. Select the 2.1 model, aspect ratio, resolution and JPG/PNG output, then review the credit cost.

3

Generate and critique the scene

Sign in, submit and wait for the image. Check focal hierarchy, anatomy and repeated motifs. Download the study and use My Creations to return to the task.

Questions from the sketchbook

How many credits should I plan for a concept image?

On Artta AI, one 1K concept uses 2 credits, 2K uses 4, and 4K uses 6. The number of reference sketches does not create a separate reference fee.

Can sketches and palette references be used together?

Yes, within the limit of 14 JPEG, PNG or WebP images and 30 MB per image. You can also use accessible public HTTP or HTTPS image URLs with the same restrictions. Tell the model which image supplies the composition and which supplies colors or texture.

What canvas ratios are available for an illustration?

There are 15 choices: auto, 1:1, 2:3, 3:2, 1:4, 4:1, 3:4, 4:3, 4:5, 5:4, 1:8, 8:1, 9:16, 16:9 and 21:9. You can pair the selected ratio with 1K, 2K or 4K output.

How do I request a color study without redesigning the scene?

Write a prompt that identifies the composition to retain and the colors to change. Prompts are required and accept up to 20,000 characters. A request to preserve the layout is guidance, not a guarantee, so compare object placement and silhouettes after generation.

Which model and settings does this page open?

This page opens Nano Banana 2.1, a separate selection from Nano Banana 2. Fresh settings are 1K, Auto and JPG, with PNG also available. Nano Banana 2.1 has no Google Search option; include the visual context in your prompt and references.

What happens to credits when a study fails?

The credits for a generation are refunded after the task is confirmed failed. A delay or a temporarily unsuccessful status lookup does not by itself confirm failure. You can revisit the existing task and check again.

Give your next story moment a visual form

Choose a scene, sketch or palette question. Make one study, look closely at the result and decide what the picture needs next.
